The first Woodcote Neighbourhood Plan 2013 -2017 (WNP1) was made in May 2014 and has been used successfully to manage housing development in Woodcote. South Oxfordshire District Council (SODC) are currently preparing a new Local Plan which will allocate an additional housing requirement for Woodcote. This will mean that the policies in WNP1 will no longer take precedence over the policies in the Local Plan. In September 2016 Woodcote Parish Council (WPC) invited Geoff Botting to reform the advisory group to review WNP1 and recommend updates to WNP1 to maintain essential compliance with the new SODC Local Plan with particular focus on the identification of specific sites to accommodate necessary development.
The designated area for the second Woodcote Neighbourhood Plan (WNP2) is the same as the designated area for WNP1, i.e. the parish of Woodcote.
The purpose of NPAG is to develop and oversee a process that will result in the creation of a Neighbourhood Plan (NP) for Woodcote that benefits current and future parishioners whilst allowing for sustainable economic and social growth and development.
The NP must be in strategic compliance with the new SODC Local Plan and comply with National Planning Policy, Sustainability requirements and EU regulations.
